Such long holidays with so much things to see is really super tiring. Everyday we have to wake up at 7am, sleep after midnight, and walk the whole day. Its even tougher than working actually. We decided that next time there should be breaks in between instead of rushing all the way.
Barcelona is a very beautiful city that I want to live there someday, Valencia is hot and a little boring, Madrid is fucking dangerous as we got mugged, Copenhagen is so cloudy that you need to wait for the best opportunity for a good picture when the sun is out, Oslo is so expensive that we cannot afford a real meal, Flam and the surrounding fjords are so beautiful that Em says its the best best best of all the places we visited, and finally Bergen is so rainy that we could not see anything except Bryggen (the old wharf of Bergen).
Anyhow, theres so much things to talk about this trip and so this post is mainly a note to self on future posts.

I made a terrible mistake for this year’s holiday plans. I just hope that we don’t die from the heat wave.

Em complains that I am a PP cos I always want things my way, want to be served always, and refused to stay in hostel whenever we travel. So I wanted to tell Em that I chong xiao dao da have been a PP in a certain way.
- Though not very rich, my parents try to buy whatever toys for us if they can afford it
- In Sec School, when I was being jio-ed meng, my friend Pro Phang had to come save me
- In Army, I was working as a clerk in air-conditioned office while others are chionging in the heat
- In Uni, I was sleeping in lectures while others are copying notes (which I borrowed)
- In NOC, Raj had to help carry my shopping bags and Jeff Tiong had to sleep in down jacket (when I full blast the air-conditioning during autum)
- Now, in Milan, Em had to cook, wash, dry, (and sometimes serve) for me
To Em: Yes, I am indeed pampered and so please continue to make me feel pamepered! Here I present to my dearest and beloved Em – The Perfectly Pampered Prince Jaron.

This place is just full of “postcards” views everywhere you go! Its no wonder why it is listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site! Unfortunately I hurt myself during the hike while protecting Em from some booby traps! I think we’ll go back there again next summer!

Em likes to “make” her nails at night but I totally hate that smell and so I had to plead Em to do it in the afternoon when I am not home.
Anyhow, the thing is, I was trying out some new protocol and guess what I have to use? NAIL POLISH/VARNISH! The very same smelly thing that Em use for to “make” her nails! Its really strange to me that such stuff are used in lab protocols! Maybe I’ll discover more strange stuff few years down the road…
On another note, if you are working in a lab, do check out this lab jokes thread http://www.protocol-online.org/forums/index.php?showforum=28. Its really pretty amusing e.g. balancing 11 x 15mL sample tubes with 11 x 15mL water blank tubes!

Lots of well wishes from family and friends (especially on facebook!). Thanks all!!!
Anyhow, what I wanted to say is that bday celebration is a little different here in Italy. In SG, during bdays, usually group of friends go out for lunch/dinner and everyone treats the bday boy/gal. However, the style here is (at least in my lab) that the bday boy/gal treats everyone to some pastries or cake and a bottle of sparkling wine to celebreate!
