Its quite confusing sometimes!
For example, “no, non capisco niente” if literally translated is “no, I don’t understand nothing”
So its -ve * ve * -ve = -ve?

Venice is quite cool, like a water city. The problem with Venice is that there are too many canals and you never know if there is a bridge at the end of the path, sometimes you have to backtrack cos theres no bridge! Anyhow, the grand canal of Venice is totally like Clark/Boat Quay in Sg.
Things are super ex at Venice – food, accoms, transport (6 euros per water-bus ride!). The price for gondolas was crazy too – 80 euros for 20 minutes ride!

“In February, Italians get ready for the Carnival. The most famous one is in Venice, which usually takes place between February 9 and 16. Beside Venice, many colorful and happy celebrations are held throughout the country. Wherever you are in Italy, you see in February children and adults in costume, and you may be the spectator or object of practical jokes: ”A Carnevale ogni scherzo vale,” Italians say. “At Carnival tim, every prank is fair.” If you want to participate in the festivities, here is a partial list”
Read more here.
Anyhow, Milan is supposedly the last one to have Carnival. The Italians Carnival is like Halloween in States where you see all sort of costumes and is like Xmas in Sg where you see loads and loads of foam/confetti sprays!
(Look at the amount of rubbish and this is just 1 small part of the street!!! Its worst than Xmas in Sg I think…)
(Free circus like show at night. As usual, please support vimeo and watch it at HD here)

Apparently this month is the start of a new level in my Italian class and we have new people joining us. The cool thing is that the new people are mainly from ASIA like 1 Taiwanese, 1 Indonesian, 1 Chinese from Dalian (reminds me of NOC Liang) and 1 Chinese from Shanghai. I am no longer the only Asian or Chinese liao!
Oh and by the way, I scored 72/100 for the previous level of Italian class and this is from skipping 30% of class and not doing any homework at all. Em on the other hand who study full-time got only a just-pass-grade in her Level 1 Italian class. I guess I am just smart or at least smarter than Em haha…
(I will need this book reallllly sooooon)

Oranges here are red. I remember buying something similar in Sg and it was called bloody orange or something and of course it was bloody expensive. Anyhow, these red oranges come from Sicily and they are quite sweet and very cheap here, about 70 euro cents per kg!

I don’t if I should watch
Inter vs. Liverpool
OR
Milan vs. Arsenal
OR
wait till the finals and hope either Milan or Inter will be in the final match
Its not exactly very cheap to go for every match, about 30 to 50 euros each time! Moreover, the matches are in odd timing like 8.45pm mid-week. Anyhow, I just hope to be in a match where there are plenty of GOALS.

Unlike my friends who are balloting for HDB flats, I am balloting for the French Open 2008 tickets (Men’s Final on 8th June 2008). I really hope I will be lucky and get the tickets, imagine watching Roger Federer (hopefully) play live! Also, the match will be in Paris and Em can go shopping at Louis Vuitton.
